Panel in the Spotlight: “Writing a Life: Memoir”

In “Writing a Life,” moderator Marita Golden, the award-winning author of 20+ works of fiction and nonfiction, heads up a panel of accomplished writers whose compelling personal stories have led them to memoir. Mary Collins is co-author of At the Broken Places: A Mother and Trans Son Pick Up the Pieces. Bernardine “Dine” Watson won the 2023 Washington Writers’ Publishing House prize for nonfiction for Transplant. And the forthcoming Damaged People by Joe McGinniss Jr. is a memoir about the novelist’s famous father, himself, and raising a son.

Listen to what this team of pros has to say about telling your story. Afterward, stick around to buy — and have them sign — their works from our official onsite bookseller, DC indie Busboys and Poets!

The 2024 Washington Writers Conference takes place May 3-4 in Rockville, MD. Don’t miss your chance to attend the area’s premier literary event! REGISTER NOW!
